Angular contact ball bearings have inner and outer ring raceways that are displaced relative to each other in the direction of the bearing axis. This means that these bearings are designed to accommodate combined loads, i.e. simultaneously acting radial and axial loads.

Angular contact ball bearings are the contact point of the steel ball and the inner and outer rings of the ball bearing is at an angle to the radial direction. The contact angle is generally divided into 15 °, 30 °, and 40 °, which are denoted by the letters C, A, and B, respectively. NSK specially produces such bearings with a contact angle of 25 °, denoted by A5.
